Going Raw

Going raw is my motto these days and I have no idea what benefit to get from this raw  fruit and vegetable combination as it is just an experiment on my part. Normally, I blend whatever is in my fridge to enjoy the goodness of fresh food at least once or twice a week, devoid of cooking. It is not a substitute of a meal but it does make me feel full when taking a glassful of blended fruits and vegetables. Therefore, a glass of blended vegetable and fruits would be helpful in eating less and easy for the stomach, yet nutrients aren't compromised.

Also, I always opt for natural sugars found in each fruit and never add any sugar on any blends I made as sugar is no longer a regular item in my house. Honey would be a good substitute or maple syrup to sweeten up any beverages as these are natural.  I blend at my own risks aiming for natural food and have no regrets. There are some changes in my body, in my skin and in my thoughts, positive changes I mean. No regrets so far, only happiness to learn more about the goodness of fresh food.

Next thing I want to get rid of are the flour food. Those yummy sweets calling me, tempting my sweet tooth, begging for more each time desserts sweep my tongue. Those colorful designs that captures my mind as well as my taste. I know it is not a healthy choice but my will power always end up melting from desires of them and I hope to conquer them one day. One day at a time.

With this in mind, I am sure my health will be better as medicines are also a no no to me, unless it is an emergency. There are ways to better our health problems by using natural remedies. These are not expensive. In fact, some are available right in our very own home. We can find them in our kitchen, in our garden and in the neighborhood. Herbal remedies are not fast relief like the magic of one pill. Home remedies work in a very gentle way, slow but surely. Our body heals well if we help it with natural remedies. Our body heals itself if given the time and help by listening to our own body.

One last thing for me to remember is this : TOO MUCH IS NOT GOOD. A balance diet is best for a healthy life and my first step starts NOW with exercise to awake my self to the beauty of life.

Aloe Vera Parsley Smoothie
1 Aloe Vera Leaf
1 Banana
1/2 Apple
1/2 Cup pineapple slices with juice
5 Sprigs Parsley

Wash the aloe vera, apple and parsley thoroughly.

Add the cup of pineapple with its juice in the blender. Next, add the banana and cut apples and then the parsley.

Slice the aloe vera leaf in half and scrape the gel out of it's paddle using a spoon. I usually add the aloe vera last in the blender.

Blend all ingredients and enjoy.
